Office cleaning video of a competent numismatic when?

This is good advice. Take your monthly coin budget and save it for a few weeks. If it’s 25 bucks a week, in two months you’ll have 200-225. In four you’ll have over 400. With that 400 bucks, you can get a nice for your collection, maybe the key date for a series, and then you can use that 25 to buy the common dates around it. I promise you, nothing feels better than getting the key date to a series and realizing how easy the rest of the series can be in comparison.

Think...just imagine...what it could have been like if the fools in government hadn't decided to steal America's gold and instead just kept everything sitting in vaults. While, granted, they wouldn't be worth anything near what they are now, they absolutely could have made an INCREDIBLE profit selling those gold coins just like the other GSA coins. And then you, too, could put together a set of 1907-1933 $20 St. Gaudens without paying the equivalent of a small Caribbean island in exchange.

Great information and great video! I was just looking to buy my first CC Morgan. This explains the mystery of the blue box, lol. It’s a special release from GSA. Funny how the government can literally lose money… these were hiding in a vault and they had no idea!

In 1967 my first coin purchase was the 1921d dime XF . Later completed the Jefferson nickel set then a Washington quarter set . On to the Bust Halfs from 1807 to 1836. Now I'm writing a book report on all Al C. Overton reverse die rotations of that time period . Competent Numismatist .

I bought about 15 of the C.C. in the Government case I just really loved them I got about three good dates also 1881 and a couple of the 1885s But the rest are mainly 1883 and 84 But yeah I really enjoy them!

For the common years, which really are 3 years...1882CC, 1883CC, 1884CC there were thousands put in the GSA holders, on the opposite end, the years that have the least represented in a GSA holder are, 1889CC, 1892CC, 1893CC..with 1 from each year only !! Now those are the 3 I'd like to have 😁

....it is especially difficult living in Europe and being a US Coin Collector. ...but my knowledge for Old European Coins has grown tremendously. What basically kills me ordering from the States is the shipping! 😲I have also been contemplating about joining PCGS or NGC because I feel that I have some pieces that I think should be preserved, but I cannot find anyone who can eventually give me a second opinion. Hi Ben, DCAM Graded copper coins why is DCAM not seperated into RD BN etc I have DCAM coins that are 1990-S PR70RD DCAM and the same coin 1990-S PR70DCAM yet when you look on PCGS they are grouped together under DCAM with no seperation.

I am planning on having a yard sale soon. Clothes, Cookware, Sports Cards and other Sports memorabilia ! Get rid of the Stuff and buy some more coins !

Ben for president! Let me know if you come across a PCGS high relief 1907 Saint Gaudens with a minimum grade of 63, but with a CAC green bean.

I always know what I'm basically going for but I'm always looking for that something cool that I wasn't expecting to see for my collection over my stacking. Friday my something cool was a gold plated ASE. Not worth anything more but man does it look cool and made me a really happy camper. They also held another cool looking world coin for me because they thought I'd like it. It's pretty cool when my LCS holds coins off to the side they think I'll like. If I don't like it they put it back out for sale. They're pretty good at it though, not much goes back. I think the caffeine from my mountain dew is kicking in. I seem to be rambling on. I don't even remember what I was commenting on. Oh well. If you're a dad, Happy Father's day!

I didn't know you would be at the Baltimore show until Friday. I went on Thursday but didn't see you. I'm learning to be selective such as only buying CAC coins or from dealers I trust that cherry pick coins.

Good take. I'm positive I saw this in another of your videos but a review every year is good to keep it in the mind. Some of the coins I want are in the 1 to 2k range and instead of buying coins at $50 here or $100 there, I'm having to use willpower to save for 1 really nice coin. Maybe having a fewer number of really nice coins is better than a Smaug hoard of more common stuff. Saves on storage too. After listening to you talk about this in a previous video, I don't get drinks if I eat out. That saves $3-$4 bucks each time. Eating at home also saves more too. Easily hundreds in a couple of months.

I buy and sell lots of Morgans, because the more I get through my hands the more I learn. I collect 1880-S Morgans because they are so beautiful and not crazy expensive for the most part. I like different Gen NGC/PCGS holders and Blanchard/ANA/Whatever else.

The hunt is half the fun.
